My Catalan background, prior to moving to England in 1990, has been critically important in my work. I experiment through the physicality of paint as a medium, and explore a theme of temporality. The representative elements are a record of historical buildings that fascinate me, and that represent important testimonial evidence about scenes which have disappeared and I wish to immortalise. The fluid overpainting disrupts linear interpretation, pointing to the complexity of historical testament and the inevitable dislocation of place, perception and memory.
